Eligibility Conditions:

1. Sub-Inspector (Vehicle Mechanic) [Group-B Post]:

  • Educational Qualification: Three years diploma/degree in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an institute recognized by the government.

2. Constable (Technical) [Group-C Post]:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized board or institution.
    • Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the respective trade, or
    • Three years of work experience in the respective trade from a reputed firm.

Written Examination for Constable (Technical) Post:

The written exam will be conducted at designated examination centers. It will consist of one composite paper with 100 objective-type questions, totaling 100 marks, to be attempted within two hours. The paper will be divided into the following sections:

Qualifying Marks:

  • General/EWS/OBC category candidates: 35%
  • SC/ST category candidates: 33%


  • (A) The number of candidates to be qualified in the written examination will be restricted to a maximum of six times the number of vacancies. There will be no re-evaluation of the answer sheets.
  • (B) Candidates are not allowed to use mobile phones, calculators, or any other electronic/electrical devices during the exam. Possession of these items will be considered as “use of unfair means,” and appropriate action will be taken.
  • (C) The written examination will be conducted on an OMR-based answer sheet. Incorrectly filled mandatory data (e.g., Roll Number, question booklet series code, category) will result in the rejection of the answer sheet at the initial stage.

Second Phase Examination:

Candidates who qualify in the written examination will proceed to the second phase, which includes:

1. Physical Standards Test (PST):

  • Candidates will be measured for height, chest, and weight according to the physical standards mentioned in the official recruitment notification.
  • Note: Disqualified candidates can appeal at the venue to the presiding officer. Weight will not be a criterion for rejection during PST but will be checked during the medical examination.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

  • Candidates found fit in PST will undergo PET, which is qualifying in nature.
  • Events:
    • Male: 3.2 KM run in 17 minutes
    • Female: 1.6 KM run in 9 minutes
  • Note: Ex-servicemen are exempt from PET but will undergo PST and detailed medical examination. Pregnant women will be declared temporarily unfit and re-examined six weeks post-confinement with a medical fitness certificate.
